ABOUT ME
Born in London and bred in Boston, I am now a practicing urban planner, designer, and troublemaker in Austin, TX.

Although I originally studied as an architect, my passion for international development led me to spend a year in India working with Hunnarshaala Foundation, a non-profit architecture and disaster relief organization. I learned how to play cricket, ride a motorbike, and worked with several local NGOs to build basic infrastructure in and develop housing and redevelopment strategies for informal communities.
Along the way, I realized that I wanted to work at a larger scale and address the social, economic, and political causes of urban poverty and informality. I decided to pursue a master’s degree in urban planning at Harvard University.

I firmly believe that small changes, conversations and projects can make big statements and pave the way for innovation on a larger scale. I am especially passionate about exploring new strategies to increase transparency and participation in urban issues through physical interactions and conversations, technology and information design. In Austin, I serve on the City of Austin Parkland Events Task Force, am a board member for the SXSW Place by Design Initiative, and am the founder of Boomspace, a tactical urbanism collaborative.
